Lesson Observation

Day 1 of LTTC Japan’s first CELTA course gave the trainees a chance to observe a real English language class. The trainees were divided into their teaching practice groups and observed their tutors teaching the students that they will be teaching for the next few weeks. The tutors both taught a 60 minute lesson which makes up 1 hour of the 6 hours of observations the trainees are required to do as part of the course.

Following the observation trainees were given time to meet their students and interview them about their lives and their learning experiences. This interview helps form part of one of the four assignments they will undertake in the coming weeks and gives them a chance to build rapport with their class
